Tottenham target Hernandez to leave Man Utd

Tottenham have been keeping an eye on the Javier Hernandez situation at Old Trafford for a while now and our chance to secure him may have come around.

Tottenham target Hernandez to leave Man Utd

He has been warned by his Mexico manager Miguel Herrera that if he wants to keep getting selected for his country he will have to leave Manchester United in search of regular first team football.

"In the case of 'Chicharito', I believe it'd be in his interest to leave so he is taken into consideration to play."

We won't be the only ones interested in his signature though with Italian giants Inter keen on him as well. Aston Villa have been keeping an eye on him as well but his wages would probably be out of their reach. In January ESPN journalist Diego Cora tweeted the Spurs had made a bid for Chicharito but that he was more likely to go to Monaco or Atletico Madrid.

Hernandez, who will be 26 at the start of next season, started brightly in the Premier League but has been unable to hold down a first team place. He is under contract until June 2016 so now would be the time to sell if Manchester United wanted to cash in on him.

The strikers scoring stats last season are deceptive because he was constantly a substitute starting only 6 games. In the Premier League he made 24 appearances but that only totalled 855 minutes which equates to only 9.5 games. He came on as a sub for under 23 minutes 13 times and 7 of those for less than 15 minutes.

He scored 4 goals and had 3 assists. In the FA Cup and League Cup he scored 5 goals in 6 games with 1 assist.

"There is obviously uncertainty, but right now I am fully focused on the national team.

"My agent and my staff help me work it all out.

"My future could be decided tomorrow, a little after or within three months. Stay there? I really don't know."

He has an eye for goal, is a finisher, has Premier League experience and would cost is valued by transfermarkt at £14.08 million.

I would suggest he would be a welcome addition and was disappointed we didn't sign him last summer, perhaps one year on we will get him.
