Lloris - Spurs not playing well

If Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, it is widely assumed that French number one Hugo Lloris will want to leave White Hart Lane. Whether he is allowed to by Daniel Levy or not is another matter.

Hugo Lloris leaving Spurs?

He was asked recently about it and conveniently sidestepped the question rather than denying he would look for a move. Whenever a player says he will look at things at the end of the season it is a message that unless goals are achieved I'll look to leave. He is not the only one who may depart either with Jan Vertonghen wanted by among others Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.

There are also several clubs interested in signing Lloris should he become available, French sides AS Monaco, Paris Saint Germain and Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

I'm sure a tax haven in Monaco would appeal, whilst PSG have a heavily spending wealthy owner. Atletico Madrid would however be a surprise move given the French captain would have little or no chance of winning La Liga.

Hugo Lloris was pleased with the three points against Cardiff City he told the clubs official website but recognised it was not a great performance again.

"It's always important to keep strong at the back. It helps us to get points on the board because when you don't concede a goal you just need to score one and we did that today.

"It was not easy and we didn't put on a great performance, but we got three points and that's the main thing."

We seem to be hearing this a lot from players so it's no wonder we occasionally come unstuck when we can ill afford to do so.

The players do though have the opportunity to put that right in the three upcoming games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Nine points would be a dream and throw us right back into the mix, seven would be acceptable but anything less would probably not be good enough.

Tottenham require seven points to overtake Arsenal with Manchester City expected to climb above their rivals with their games in hand.
